A key part of keeping your body fit and healthy concerns balance.  Having good balance increases body confidence and reduces the likelihood of falling. Yet how often do you practice balancing as an exercise?

One of my main focuses in all videos and live classes is about making the exercises as functional as possible.

This is why I include so much standing and weight bearing movements. Exercise classes should not just be for fitness, strength and flexibility, but also to help make daily life easier and more natural.

So standing on one leg and trying to be still is not the answer to balance.  Effective balance should be a whole body flowing experience that doesn’t involve tension.

Life is not about being still and balance too is not about being still.
Relax and let your balance come from the subtleties inside.

In the video below I share a routine that challenges your balance.  It’s simple enough for everybody to try, although you might need a couple of chairs for support.

Using balance in this fashion will increase your body awareness and body awareness will then help your balance in daily life.

Try it out today and let me know how it goes.

Take care

Thanks Danny
