A healthy body needs to be flexible.

One way to increase flexibility is through stretching. In fact improving your overall flexibility is a major component of a balance fitness programme.

But here’s they key…you can’t use the same focus from strength and cardio training for stretching.  It requires a different mental approach.

If you force a muscle to stretch, your body’s natural protection mechanism kicks in to prevent injury.  This mechanism shortens the muscle…the opposite of what we want.
